My dad asked me not to thank him on stage just before being introduced going out on stage. We discussed who would be thanked and who wouldn’t together. That’s how we roll…..together.
I agree – forgot to thank Dad because of the union of the two. I am sure he would have been floored to hear he did not. And I am sure he loves his Dad unconditionally. His Dad owes him thanks as well and gives those thanks often.
great story and inspiration to all of us. let’s stop complaining about anything else. what could be worse than what this great individual has accomplished and been grateful for despite the obvious bad hand he was dealt with since birth.
that kid makes me not complain about anything in life especially how hard it is, i just remeber that that kid cant see and can still play the piano better than i can
Yea, that was the first thing that struck my mind aswell.. His dad is like supporting him 24/7. He must’ve forgotten him, because I know for a fact, this guy loves his dad, and his dad loves his son even more.
None the less, this guy is just pure amazingness!
I was sitting here laughing, thinking about a joke that fit this perfect. Have you ever noticed that a man will spend all his time teaching his son how to play sports, day in and day out working with them teaching them how to catch, throw, hit, putt, block, tackle etc.
Then when that kid finally makes it big and the first time he in on camera on network TV the first thing he says is, “Hi Mom” lol
Patrick did the same thing, his Dad does the most for him and then he thanks his Mom lol
yeah, read his book idiot. his dad works 20 hrs a week at a ups night shift. he is far from rich. he lived in a 2 bedroom one story house till extreme makeover re-did his house. not a rich white kid, don’t make ignorant comments, at least be educated on something if you want to make an opinion on it
now imagine if his parents where poor..it would be worse for a poor family..
its better to happen to white rich kid..then some one from africa or hunduras or mexico..
but that sucks.
i admire you for giving credit and glory to God. indeed, he is all good and deserve it. but how could you forgot to thank your dad? whatever reason you have will perhaps acceptable but then that really hurts on the part of your dad. at that very moment. God bless.
Just seen Patrick Henry today (sept 28th, 2008) on the Dutch broadcast of Extreme Home Make Over. Moved me to tears when he sang “I believe” at the end. Great guy, great family !
I saw him on Ellen, Extreme Home Makeover and this…my only question is WHY DOESN’T THIS MAN HAVE A RECORDING CONTRACT!!! He’s so amazing! I want a CD of him!
Patrick if everyone in this world had your courage, compassion, and abilty to see inside people, the world would be an amazing place. You are my inspiration in music!

because to Patrick, he and his dad are one. they’re together in everything he does. hence, no need to thank him.
